Veteran French artist Ramuntcho Matta has plenty of work to explore, so really helps to have the curatorial instincts of a label like Emotional Rescue to guide us. After reissuing Matta's 1986 album Ecoute a few years back, they return to the very same year and another startling work, 24 Hrs. The A side tracks through short and expressive instrumental paths, utlising a snaking tabla, trumpet and accousitc guitar, clearly nodding to Don Cherry's spiritual free-flowing journeys. 'Sunset' on the B side takes things further across 20 transcendental minutes of unbound musical mastery. Wow.

Music From Memory knock it out of the park with this stunning debut from the mystical group 'The Zenmen'. Spacious, harmonic, ambient, accousitc, spiritual and deeply human. A beautiful intertwining of Eastern and Western sounds and instruments too. One of the best releases I've heard in a long while! Highest recommendation!

London based duo Good Block bring the dub on this third release. Ambient textures sit below a grooving bass line and a rolling drum machine on the A, and on the B we get a sweaty and incredibly 80s slap bass rhythm in a sparse and tropical slow banger. Both tracks come with terrific alternative versions - big value for money on this one! Only 300 copies on this sucker.
