Drawing on Jordan Rogers-Smith’s background as a hospitality specialist and DJ, and co-owner Emily’s Devers’s background as a practising artist, curator and arts facilitator, the pair have brought together a retail experience in contemporary Australian art and global music that is accessible to all. Operating primarily online, Waiting Room has a constant rotation of original artwork, new and pre-loved records, functional art, ritual items and publications.

Waiting Room Records is run by Jordan Rogers-Smith - a deep music appreciator and DJ, who’s passionate about supporting artists by promoting their music with authenticity. Jordy imports quality new and pre-loved records with a major focus on outer-national, jazz, soul, funk, hip-hop and ambient music. Waiting Room Records also seeks the acquisition of record collections, and facilitates live music through regular pop-up events.

Waiting Room Gallery is run by Emily Devers - a Brisbane artist & arts facilitator who has been working with creatives for over 10 years.

Emily has hosted over 200 exhibitions, and supported over 400 artists to show their work in Brisbane through galleries, public programming and pop-up events. 

As an artist herself, she’s driven by the desire to connect artists with community, and dismantle the traditions associated with conventional gallery models so she can TRULY support artists to thrive. All artworks are under $5,000, and we have many resources to support a low barrier of entry to collectorship.
