Written after a trip home to Swaziland, now known as eSwatini, the Brownswood Future Bubblers artist Sydney recorded the sounds of life there after completing studies of sonic signatures and comparison of traditional instruments around the world. Oozing with an authentic and rich atmosphere, Sydney has crafted seven deep and spiritual cuts with indigenous percussion, tumbling drums and rich spoken word samples. First-ever vinyl collection of Nils Frahm's 2018 'Encore' series, a stiring trilogy of EPs exploring the vast sound of Frahm. Listened to in sequence, it sees the German pianist and composer offer up solo acoustic pieces for piano and harmonium (tracks 1 to 5), before layering piano and field recordings across sublime ambient tracks (6 to 9). Frahm flips the script entirely on the back third, working almost exclusively with modular and analogue synths and electronically processed voices. Up there with his best work!

Hot on the heels of his debut EP on Mathew Hallsall's Gondwana Records, saxophonist and flautist Chip Wickham is back with a gorgeous full-length. Wickham is a member of the first Gondwana Orchestra and was on Halsall's debut LP Sending My Love, but now he steps out with a sound that is all his own on Cloud 10. It's lush and spiritual, with mellifluous keys draped over gentle drums and heart-aching sax solos reaching truly emotional highs. Gorgeous, life-affirming stuff from this modern great. Tip!

Analog Africa's latest must-have release focuses on the little-known musical culture of the Para state on Northern Brazil, specifically the port city of Belem. Originally released in 1980 on the Alberika label, Orchestre Les Volcans du Benin Vol. 1 has long been a 'holy grail' LP for Afro-Cuban aficionados. cktrl aka Bradley Miller is a key player in London’s pioneering musical underground, especially here on London's fast-rising label Touching Bass. cktrl plays heartfelt clarinet and saxophone-led soundscapes spurred on by "overpowering feelings of heartbreak" and a desire to push left-field Black music, and in doing so establishes himself as one to watch in the contemporary-classical music scene. One of the last OG DJs on NTS, he's also collaborated with Sampha, Sango and Dean Blunt. Gorgeous stuff.

Invisible City Editions reissue (with booklet) a totally stunning Spiritual Jazz LP by D.C native Jeff Majors. A combination of gorgeous harp and kalimba (thumb piano) playing, drum machines, synth lines and vocal layers. Includes a serene cover of John Lennon's 'Let It Be'! Fun fact, Jeff was one of Alice Coltrane's students at the Ashram and played in Brother Ah's band! Beautiful release!

A must-own for lovers of 80s 'cool' and anyone with even a passing interest in Brazillian music, with Cali-soaked bops, dancefloor heat and everything in between. One of Valle's biggest in his post-USA releases where he brought home the American soul, funk and boogie of its era.
