Veteran French artist Ramuntcho Matta has plenty of work to explore, so really helps to have the curatorial instincts of a label like Emotional Rescue to guide us. After reissuing Matta's 1986 album Ecoute a few years back, they return to the very same year and another startling work, 24 Hrs. The A side tracks through short and expressive instrumental paths, utlising a snaking tabla, trumpet and accousitc guitar, clearly nodding to Don Cherry's spiritual free-flowing journeys. 'Sunset' on the B side takes things further across 20 transcendental minutes of unbound musical mastery. Wow.

Mr Bongo reissue of the killer 1973 album from the revelatory UK rock and funk band. Their revelatory and unique blend of Afro + Brit funk, rock and soul is still a head-turner to this day. Essential!
A Bowie comp like non-other, this collection is entirely commissioned covers of rarities and classics in tribute to the late megastar, with an aim to champion Bowie's lesser-known connection to soul, R&B, jazz, funk, and gospel from Khruangbin, Eddie Chacon, Jeff Parker, Helado Negro and many more!
Dense 2xLP of early-70s to mid-80s private archive tape songs from the late avant-pioneer Arthur Russel! Themed around the folky country pop rock (but still very experimental) side of Arthur Russell's musical practice, it's just as fresh as any modern folk being released today. Beautiful work!
Lengthy 5-tracker of 70’s NYC proto-rap disco instrumentals, Nigerian boogie, Jamaican dub and modern jazzy house by Julien Dyne, Horatio Luna and Surprise Chef’s Lachlan Stuckey. Tip!!
