Claremont 56 have commissioned two very special versions of the modern-day Balearic hymn "The Visitor". Ray Mang reminds us of the true meaning of dub as we're immersed in a truly enveloping dynamic where flickers of the original's vocals fly in and out of the mix. Idjut Boys follow a similar sentiment but instead of teasing us with the vocal shades, they extend, break down and rebuild the instrumentation in a way only they know how. Super-limited white 10". HOT!

1998 debut album from KDJ a.k.a Moodyman, still one of Detroit's most revered House releases to date. Like his renowned DJ sets, KDJ infuses funk, gospel, soul and hip-hop into the heart of the Detroit house sound that will be worshipped and emulated into eternity... It's Black American music for the feet and for the heart, beautifully remastered on two clear vinyls. Necessary!
By the 80s, 'Fusion' had become pretty gimmicky in the minds of Jazz players thanks to a trend of boring and undercooked eternal noodling on guitars and pianos. Thankfully, Brazilian trio Azymuth have always kept this combination of jazz and rock 'fusion' alive, even on this lesser discussed 1986 release. Rooted in the groove of Ivan Conti's drumming, it's a sweet record of uplifting, soft Brazillian jazz with some playful drum machine and synth workouts. Ripper.
German duo Session Victim remains two of house music's more tender and musically minded creators. Their sound is equally suited to intimate house parties, clubs and a Sunday afternoon on the couch. After big appearances on Rhythm Section and Toy Tonics, their latest is put out by the tastemakers over at Night Time Stories. Expect gently swaying Balearic grooves, cosy deep-house gems, lush instrumentals and jazz beats to contest anyone in the South London revival scene. A stunner!
