The always reliable Rhythm Section is back with this mini album from Saul, a duo comprised of Jack Stephenson-Oliver (keys player with Vels Trio) and producer Barney Whittaker AKA Footshooter. Both of those projects have killer releases on the label already, so it's no surprise that together they have created some magic. 'Mutualism' is a gorgeously warm, dreamy and tactile affair that effortlessly joins the dots between classy dancefloor dynamics, laidback electronics, freewheeling jazz musicianship, soulful vocal flavours and all that broken-beat goodness to expect from South London.

Meanjin's own producer + DJ extraordinaire Sampology AKA Sam Poggioli returns with this must-have LP! A culmination of the ideas previously heard on his last two EPs 'Natural Selections' & 'Mt Glorious', Sampo almost entirely pivoted away from a heavy sampled-based production into a largely live affair - with string quartets, woodwinds, 20-piece choirs, vibraphones, double bass, various pianos and synths... Like lots of Sampo's work, it's joyful, bouncy, textural and gorgeous front-to-back listening. Recorded from scratch in either his home studio or on his travels over the past four years, 'Regrowth' is the perfect album to sink into, thanks to its rich and colourful production. HUGE TIP!
HUGE TUNE ALERT! South African Boogie that'll turn the dancefloor to lava, reissued on wax (from the analog master tapes) for the first time since its original release in 1986! Original heater on the A side but the 9-minute dub on the flip is where it's at... the minutes-long sax solo will have you levitating... Kalita Records, please don't stop digging!
