cktrl aka Bradley Miller is a key player in London’s pioneering musical underground, especially here on London's fast-rising label Touching Bass. cktrl plays heartfelt clarinet and saxophone-led soundscapes spurred on by "overpowering feelings of heartbreak" and a desire to push left-field Black music, and in doing so establishes himself as one to watch in the contemporary-classical music scene. One of the last OG DJs on NTS, he's also collaborated with Sampha, Sango and Dean Blunt. Gorgeous stuff.

Strut continues to mine the back catalogue of disco and boogie-era soul star Patrice Rushen with a much-needed reissue of her 1980 record 'Posh'. The release not only contains a string of fine club cuts but also boasts some of the most exciting and interesting arrangements in the legendary disco diva's discography. It's musically vibrant, too, with the assembled players delivering killer grooves (slap-bass abounds, because it's the 80s), punchy horns, seductive orchestration and heaps of rush-inducing solos. One for the collection!

International Anthem brings us this INCREDIBLE collection of home-basement demos from the Chicago Southsider, Charles Stepney, which hasn't seen the light of day since his passing in 1976! 23 cuts of raw soul and funk, many of which went on to become huge tracks for bands like Earth, Wind & Fire and Rotary Connection.
