First time official 12" pressing of this absolutely seminal U.K. House production. Originally released in 1989 on a compilation, it hasn't seen a proper release since! A must-own for fans of Dream 2 Science / Sha-Lor. BIG TIP!
Another fantastic Isle of Jura official reissue, straight from the DAT tapes! This time, an off-the-wall Dub album from 1995. While rooted in Dub, the various artists Italian, Armenian and Russian heritage influenced this record with Tango and Bossa Nova through the Dub and Reggae styles. Wicked.
Adelaide-based artist Kevin Griffiths (head honcho of the incredible Isle Of Jura Records) offers up another stunner personal release right from his tropical backyard, rife with nature's ambience from his immediate surroundings. Like many recently, this project came from a seemingly eternal time off from normal work thanks to the pandemic. Thankfully we are, as Kevin effortlessly navigates through his favourite genres of Balearic, Deep House, Nu-Disco and Ambient, all with that Jura layer of Dub. Excellent!
Other Lands aka Gavin L. Sutherland delivers a stunning second LP with long-time pals Athens Of The North. Gavin's concept was to create something that worked equally in the wilds of the Western Isles and in the sunnier spots of the world that we often yearn for. In playing with the idea of groups of islands, of archipelagos the world over, it became about people experiencing isolation individually, while still feeling a sense of community with those of shared experience. Using synths, drum machines and layered loops and tones, the result is a beautiful, spontaneous, timeless and honest meditation on what it is to be at once both alone and part of a larger whole.
PT005 sees NYC-based Gee Dee deliver the fifth physical disc on Planet Trip, 'Key of Sea EP'. A freaky four-tracker of cosmic-influenced melters, effortlessly moving through hazy and dub-influenced housey cuts, balearic-tinged earworms and oddball downtempo trips. Suitable for sunsets with friends or late nights with strangers, a record with a tune for all hours of the dance. Limited to strictly 300 copies, no repress. Get it while it's here!
