Glazed Ceramic

Elizabeth Lewis is a Sydney-based artist who uses practice-led explorations of collage, coiling and hand-building techniques to create her work. An artist in residence at Kil.n.it Experimental Ceramic Studios since 2022, her work has been exhibited across Australia and internationally.

Elizabeth's ceramics are informed by hard-to-grasp feelings rather than concrete ideas, resulting in objects that explore emotions that are intimate yet hard to resolve.

Curiosity and unlikely symmetry preoccupies her work, with considered mediations on vivid colour that results in highly stylised vessels.

Her work explores the ways painting as a form of sign production can uniquely communicate phenomenological experiences — specifically where language fails. Jarvis is a graduate of BFA at the Queensland College of Art.

Dr. Gyalakuthy sees Măiastra as an opportunity to shake off the rust of the cultural dark ages of Communism and to present the history of Art in Romania as he understands it.
