Emma Gale’s work celebrates a love for colour, shape and texture. As both a ceramicist and painter, her draws inspiration from people of other cultures and their daily rituals and routines.In 2019 Emma visited Ethiopia with Create Impact an NGO working with remote communities to provide education, water and health care projects that create a lasting impact. She continues to support this charity and others through her artwork, and continues capturing individuals' and communities' stories through her work.

Creating under the moniker 'Kaomoji' the term is borrowed from the Japanese art of using symbols to convey emotion.

Aboriginal men craft the spears by hand, and they are used to hunt larger prey.A proud descendant of Kamilaroi and Dunghutti people, Ebony draws inspiration from her cultural background for all her hand-crafted pieces. EB jewellery expresses an enduring sense of identity and personal relationship to country. 2022Acrylic on canvas 61 x 91cm Samir Hamaiel is a Visual Artist based in Meanjin (Brisbane) working predominantly with paint, drawing and digital techniques. His architectural background, studying and practising in the UK, the Netherlands, Hong Kong and Australia, has significantly influenced his visual approach with strong highly structured perspectives. He has a particular interest in the in-between; less celebrated urban spaces which have evolved over time and demonstrate their history with markings, signage and texture. His background is also expressed through his work. British born with an Egyptian Father and English mother, Samir explores the complexities associated with his cultural identity: the in-between spaces in his work are a representation of this in-between status.

A spectacle, a theatre, a multi-dimensional document. An effort to merge language and formlessness in a yearning for a cyclic work. A stage for these merges to play out. A reminder that when we grow we don’t only grow upwards. The already porous membrane seemingly separating dark from light, pain from joy, and active from passive becomes intensely insignificant when we occasionally get a chance to observe ourselves from the other side of the mirror. The Archive of Dark is a book project acting as an epilogue to a body of work investigating darkness that included two separate yet coherent exhibitions; Influenza, Theatre of Glowing Darkness, 2017 and Renaissance of the Night, 2018. The book weaves together a dense collection of historic imagery into an organic and emotive narrative.
